Aluma Tray

Who we are

Built in Red Deer, Alberta

Aluma Tray is made by Lite Industries. We build aluminum flatbeds for truck campers and overland rigs, and we sell them direct and through dealers across the US and Canada.

What we build

Four flatbed models in production, all aluminum. The 6.75' and 8' replace the bed on 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickups. The HD-60 and HD-60-HC mount to 1 ton chassis cabs with a 60 inch cab to axle measurement. The HD-84, for an 84 inch cab to axle chassis, has not been released yet.

Every tray is CNC cut and formed from high strength aluminum, powder coated, and finished with a Rhino Lined deck. Four locking storage boxes sit under the deck on every model, and anodized aircraft L-Track runs along both sides.

Who builds them

Lite Industries built its first flatbed more than 30 years ago. Since then it has designed flatbeds for several industries, in steel, aluminum or a hybrid of the two depending on the job. Lite Industries celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2026.

The work goes well beyond truck campers: knuckle crane trucks, roll over protection systems (ROPS) for above and below ground mining equipment that were independently reviewed and CSA certified, service bodies, and brush trucks for fire services.

How they are finished

Before any powder goes on, every part is media blasted with garnet at an even, low pressure commercial blast. That gives the powder a surface profile it bonds to well. We do not use wash methods to prep surfaces. Current trays are finished in matte black.

The 2027 models change the finish. The storage boxes get a polyester satin black (carbon black) smooth powder, and the doors and the flatbed itself get a polyester texture black. Both go on at a dry film thickness (DFT) of 3 to 3.5 mils.

How they mount

The tray is fully isolated from the truck chassis using powder coated steel mounts and urethane isolation bushings. On the 6.75' and 8' it bolts to factory chassis locations. On the HD-60 and HD-60-HC the mounting locations are dealer drilled, which is standard for a chassis cab body.

Why isolated? Aluminum does not like to cycle. A tray bolted straight to the frame takes point loads, and that cycling leads to metal fatigue and, in the end, failure. The isolated fit kit mates the truck frame to the tray instead.

Each truck gets a fit kit made for that model. There is no universal bracket and no drilling your own holes on a pickup.

What we do not build

We do not make trays for midsize trucks, so no Tacoma, Ranger, Gladiator or Colorado, and there is no tray for the Tundra. Custom sizes outside our standard models are not our focus either, which is how we keep lead times at about 8 weeks instead of open ended.

Standing behind it

Every Aluma Tray carries a one year limited base warranty and a three year limited structural warranty from Lite Industries. Coverage has to be registered within 30 days of purchase. Read the warranty terms.
