Aluma Tray warranty

Two warranties come with every tray. Both start on the date of purchase by the original retail buyer, and both need to be registered within 30 days.

1 year

Limited Base Warranty

Covers defects in material components and workmanship on parts manufactured by Lite Industries and labor provided directly by Lite Industries.

3 years

Limited Structural Warranty

Covers materials and workmanship directly attributable to the general structural integrity of the flatbed tray.

The rules

What you need to know

Register within 30 days

Coverage is not activated until the warranty is registered in the original owner's name, and registration has to happen within 30 days of the purchase date. Miss the window and neither warranty applies. Register here.

Report a defect within 20 days

You must notify the dealer you bought from and Lite Industries within 20 days of when the defect was discovered, or reasonably should have been discovered, and within the warranty period.

Get an authorization number before any repair starts

Lite Industries issues an authorization number once a warranty repair is approved. A repair facility should not begin work before that number exists. For reimbursement, send the itemized repair bill and return any requested parts by UPS ground, freight prepaid, within 60 days of the repair date.

The warranty is not transferable

Both warranties apply only to the original retail purchaser and cannot be assigned. If you buy a used Aluma Tray, the factory warranty does not come with it.

Personal use only

Trays used for anything other than personal use are excluded, including commercial, rental, business and disaster relief use.

Buy from an authorized source

Trays purchased anywhere other than from Lite Industries or an authorized dealer are not covered. See authorized dealers.

Exclusions

What is not covered

Both warranties exclude the following. This is a summary, not the full legal text.

  • Parts and labor not manufactured or provided by Lite Industries, including separately warranted components
  • Normal wear, fading and discoloration from age, UV, rain, hail, sand and salt
  • Failure to follow the maintenance schedule
  • Alterations, modifications or aftermarket installations not performed by Lite Industries
  • Damage from overloading, excess weight, improper weight distribution or improper tie down
  • Exterior paint and finish, which is warranted by the paint manufacturer or applicator
  • Scratches, dents and rust
  • Damage from extreme weather, road surface conditions, de-icing chemicals, insects or animals
  • Consequential and incidental costs such as transport, lodging, lost time and loss of use

Some states, provinces and territories do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this may not apply to you. These warranties are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta.

Questions

Warranty questions

How long is the Aluma Tray warranty?

Lite Industries provides a one year limited base warranty and a three year limited structural warranty, both running from the date of purchase by the original retail buyer. Structural components means materials and workmanship directly attributable to the structural integrity of the flatbed tray.

How do I register my Aluma Tray warranty?

Register within 30 days of the purchase date. If you register later than 30 days, the base and structural warranties are not activated.

What is not covered by the warranty?

The warranty excludes normal wear and weathering, damage from overloading or improper weight distribution, alterations not performed by Lite Industries, aftermarket installations, trays bought from anyone other than an authorized dealer, exterior paint and finish, scratches, dents and rust, and any use that is not personal use, including commercial and rental use.

How soon do I have to report a defect?

Within 20 days of when the defect was discovered or reasonably should have been discovered, and within the warranty period. Notify both the dealer you bought from and Lite Industries.

Do I need approval before warranty repair work starts?

Yes. Lite Industries must issue an authorization number before any warranty repair begins. A repair center should not start work until that number is issued, or the claim may not be reimbursed.

Need warranty service?

Start with the dealer you bought from, then contact Lite Industries Inc.. Have your tray serial number, date of purchase and a description of the issue ready.
