Bison Overland camper flatbed builds

Each Bison Overland camper is fit to the truck it goes on and sold as a shell with interior options. The panels and the aluminum extrusion system are made in the USA.

Because a Bison Overland camper is fit to its truck, the flatbed under it is part of the plan, not an afterthought. If you are ordering a flatbed Bison, tell both builders early, so the camper is built for the deck it will sit on.

Since the shell is finished to your spec, its final weight depends on the interior you choose. Give us the weight of the build you are planning, not the bare shell, and we check it against the tray's rating.

What we need from you: the truck and its box or cab to axle, the camper's floor dimensions and its weight. Your truck picks the tray. A short box takes the 6.75', a long box the 8' and a 1 ton chassis cab at 60 inch cab to axle the HD-60, and we confirm the camper in writing.

Compare the models on our aluminum flatbeds page or check your truck on flatbed fitment by truck.

Your truck picks the tray

Whatever camper you run, the flatbed model is decided by the truck underneath it. Find your truck below, then talk to us about the camper.

Questions

Fitment questions

Which Aluma Tray fits a short box truck?

The Aluma Tray 6.75' replaces the bed on a 3/4 ton or 1 ton short box truck. It is rated to 3,000 lbs evenly distributed and comes with four locking under-deck boxes.

Which Aluma Tray fits an 8 foot long box truck?

The Aluma Tray 8' replaces the bed on a 3/4 ton or 1 ton long box truck. It carries the same 3,000 lb rating as the 6.75' and adds a 25 inch front bulkhead option.

Which Aluma Tray fits a chassis cab?

The Aluma Tray HD-60 and HD-60-HC both fit 1 ton chassis cabs with a 60 inch cab to axle measurement. Both are rated to 5,000 lbs evenly distributed and include their front bulkhead in the starting price. For an 84 inch cab to axle chassis, see the HD-84. Its price, weight and load rating are published once the factory signs them off.

Will an Aluma Tray fit my camper?

Most hard side slide-in and flatbed campers can run on an Aluma Tray, but fit depends on the camper, not just the truck. Talk to us or an authorized dealer with your camper make, model and dimensions before ordering.

Do I need anything extra if my truck is a dually?

Yes. Dual rear wheel trucks require the dually fender extension kit at $2,268 USD, which includes fenders, a stair mount extender and a set of jack extensions for the front jacks. It is available on the 8', HD-60 and HD-60-HC. It also works well on a single wheel conversion running wider MPT tires.

Does Bison Overland build flatbed campers?

Yes. Bison Overland builds both flatbed and slide-in campers, each fit to the truck. For a flatbed Bison on an Aluma Tray, send us the truck, the camper's floor dimensions and its weight, and we confirm the tray in writing.
