Aluma Tray flatbeds for Outpost campers

Outpost Campers sells its truck campers direct from Bayfield, Colorado. It is one of the camper brands named on the current Aluma Tray site as compatible.

An Outpost camper on a flatbed

Outpost is the same team behind San Juan Vans, and it describes its campers for pickup beds, with the tailgate closed or open depending on the bed length.

Putting an Outpost camper on a flatbed changes what it sits on. Instead of a box with wheel wells, it sits on a flat, Rhino Lined deck, with four locking storage boxes under the deck and L-Track along both sides.

The flatbed also opens up storage a pickup bed never had. A sealed rear drawer under the deck and a removable perimeter fence around it are both options, each priced on its own on aluminum flatbed prices.

A slide-in camper can be mounted on a flatbed. Side storage boxes fill the gap on each side of the camper. How a Outpost camper mounts to the tray is something to work out with your dealer, or with Outpost when you place the camper order.

That changes what we check. The camper's floor has to suit the deck, its weight has to stay inside the tray's rating, and it needs a way to tie down to the tray instead of the bed. Send us the Outpost you have, its floor dimensions and weight, and your truck, and we confirm it in writing.

Weighing up a flatbed against keeping the stock bed? The flatbed vs stock bed guide covers the tradeoffs, and the truck camper flatbed guide covers the rest.

Your truck picks the tray

Fitment

Which Aluma Tray suits an Outpost camper

Outpost builds for pickup beds, so we have no Outpost to tray chart. If you want one on a flatbed, we check the camper against the deck and confirm in writing.

What we can confirm

Camper specific kits

Outpost has no dedicated parts on our 2026 options sheet. The standard tray is the starting point.

Questions

Fitment questions

Which Aluma Tray fits a short box truck?

The Aluma Tray 6.75' replaces the bed on a 3/4 ton or 1 ton short box truck. It is rated to 3,000 lbs evenly distributed and comes with four locking under-deck boxes.

Which Aluma Tray fits an 8 foot long box truck?

The Aluma Tray 8' replaces the bed on a 3/4 ton or 1 ton long box truck. It carries the same 3,000 lb rating as the 6.75' and adds a 25 inch front bulkhead option.

Which Aluma Tray fits a chassis cab?

The Aluma Tray HD-60 and HD-60-HC both fit 1 ton chassis cabs with a 60 inch cab to axle measurement. Both are rated to 5,000 lbs evenly distributed and include their front bulkhead in the starting price. For an 84 inch cab to axle chassis, see the HD-84. Its price, weight and load rating are published once the factory signs them off.

Will an Aluma Tray fit my camper?

Most hard side slide-in and flatbed campers can run on an Aluma Tray, but fit depends on the camper, not just the truck. Talk to us or an authorized dealer with your camper make, model and dimensions before ordering.

Do I need anything extra if my truck is a dually?

Yes. Dual rear wheel trucks require the dually fender extension kit at $2,268 USD, which includes fenders, a stair mount extender and a set of jack extensions for the front jacks. It is available on the 8', HD-60 and HD-60-HC. It also works well on a single wheel conversion running wider MPT tires.

Do I need a flatbed for an Outpost camper?

No. Outpost builds its campers to go in a pickup bed. A flatbed is a choice you make for the deck, the under-deck storage and the tie down options. If you want one, send us your truck and the camper's dimensions and weight.
