Four Wheel Camper flatbed setups on an Aluma Tray

Four Wheel Campers builds pop-up truck campers. Alongside its slide-in and topper models, it offers flatbed versions, and for full size trucks those include the Hawk, the Hawk+ and the Grandby flatbed models. A flatbed Four Wheel Camper needs a flatbed under it. On a full size 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck, that is the job an Aluma Tray does.

We publish side storage box kits sized for Four Wheel Campers on two trays. On the 6.75' short bed flatbed, the pairs are 70.5 inch with the 14 inch bulkhead and 77.5 inch with the 7 inch bulkhead. On the 8' long bed flatbed, they are 89 inch with the 14 inch bulkhead and 96 inch with the 7 inch bulkhead. On both trays the shorter pair goes with the deeper bulkhead, so choose the bulkhead first and the side box length follows.

Planning a Four Wheel flatbed camper build? Send us the camper model, whether it is the flatbed version, its floor length and its weight, plus your truck and box length. We come back in writing with the tray, the bulkhead and the side box pair that goes with it.

The trays themselves are the same ones we build for every camper. The side boxes are the part made for Four Wheel Campers. The truck camper flatbed guide covers how truck, tray and camper fit together, and every kit is priced on aluminum flatbed prices.

Questions

Fitment questions

Which Aluma Tray fits a short box truck?

The Aluma Tray 6.75' replaces the bed on a 3/4 ton or 1 ton short box truck. It is rated to 3,000 lbs evenly distributed and comes with four locking under-deck boxes.

Which Aluma Tray fits an 8 foot long box truck?

The Aluma Tray 8' replaces the bed on a 3/4 ton or 1 ton long box truck. It carries the same 3,000 lb rating as the 6.75' and adds a 25 inch front bulkhead option.

Which Aluma Tray fits a chassis cab?

The Aluma Tray HD-60 and HD-60-HC both fit 1 ton chassis cabs with a 60 inch cab to axle measurement. Both are rated to 5,000 lbs evenly distributed and include their front bulkhead in the starting price. For an 84 inch cab to axle chassis, see the HD-84. Its price, weight and load rating are published once the factory signs them off.

Will an Aluma Tray fit my camper?

Most hard side slide-in and flatbed campers can run on an Aluma Tray, but fit depends on the camper, not just the truck. Talk to us or an authorized dealer with your camper make, model and dimensions before ordering.

Do I need anything extra if my truck is a dually?

Yes. Dual rear wheel trucks require the dually fender extension kit at $2,268 USD, which includes fenders, a stair mount extender and a set of jack extensions for the front jacks. It is available on the 8', HD-60 and HD-60-HC. It also works well on a single wheel conversion running wider MPT tires.

Which side boxes are made for Four Wheel Campers?

There are 4 pairs on the 2026 options sheet: 70.5 inch for the 6.75' with the 14 inch bulkhead ($4,340 USD), 77.5 inch for the 6.75' with the 7 inch bulkhead ($4,770 USD), 89 inch for the 8' with the 14 inch bulkhead ($5,240 USD), and 96 inch for the 8' with the 7 inch bulkhead ($5,655 USD). Each pair is tied to a bulkhead size, so pick the bulkhead first.
